Do you know your life story?
Most of you will answer yes. But let me reframe it for you.
Have you ever narrated or written your story from birth to date? The most likely answer is a no.
I started writing when I realized that no one knew my life story, including myself.
People close to me, even my family, only knew bits and pieces of it. I had never constructed my story, and so I decided to. In the process, I realized that my experiences were far enriching than I ever thought. This reflection has given me the unique opportunity to extract and learn from my own life journey’s wisdom.
These are a few reasons why you should construct your life story before you die.
1. Your life is one long story
Every day, you wake up to construct the acts of your life story.
2. You only leave behind a story
What else remains apart from the story people tell about you?
3. No one knows your story
Try and put it all together, and you realize no one knows about you, including you.
4. A eulogy is not your story
It’s a narrative of life events, just like anyone else’.
5. Your life is a unique experience, so its narrative should be uniquely told
And only you can do it! Learn and share the wisdom you have gained in your life by telling it in your own words.
