Change is our only way to thriving.

Changing is the only way to steer our lives towards our desired destination. Real change does not begin with aimless action but with understanding of one’s strengths and weaknesses, and honesty about the areas to improve.

Here are a few things that can help you shift from a dull life to a full-speed, exciting personal change journey.

1.
Own Your Lemons

Stop blaming others or divine forces for your shortcomings. Change begins when you accept that your current situation results from your actions, not external forces. By honestly examining and owning your weaknesses, you unlock the power to make lasting improvements. This shift from victimhood to responsibility empowers you to take control of your actions and your future. No one else is responsible for your success but you. Once you take charge, transformation is no longer an option, it becomes inevitable. Personal growth begins when you stop making flimsy excuses and start taking intentional action.

2.
Run Your Race

Today’s life is ruled by idolizing others and wanting to follow their route to success.  This adoration leads to copying and failing to embrace our uniqueness. Instead, choosing to conform to societal norms or others' expectations. Stop comparing yourself with others because comparison is an injustice to yourself. Accept and celebrate what makes you different.  When you believe more in your goals and values, you become more confident and in tune with your purpose and passion and are less destroyable by criticism, uncertainty and failure. By forging your path, you develop the ability to keep your aspirations modest, meaningful and uniquely fulfilling.

3.
Treasure Baby Steps

Changing yourself doesn't mean suddenly overhauling your life. Redefining or getting rid of everything all at once can lead to chaos and burnout. Manageable and lasting change starts from the basics, with the biggest obstacle in your way. Usually, one of your self-sabotaging behaviours may be fueling almost everything else. That's the one to target first. Start by raising your awareness of your choices now and then, and make small, positive changes. Make small, good decisions and take minor, bold actions every hour, every day. Even a little daily effort will become a big win over time.

4.
Avoid Perfection

No one else is and will ever be perfect. Perfectionism is doing things the way we think the world should be instead of doing things the way it perfectly works. Being a perfectionist means you invest much effort in doing less. It leads to a false sense of quality and lowers productivity by wasting your time and energy to make little progress. In the real sense, perfection is procrastination by marching on the spot. It is taking pride in avoiding facing more difficult challenges ahead. Do things without worrying about how pure or exceptional they are. The more you do, the more perfect you become.

5.
Be Consistent

Consistency is critical to achieving mastery. The more you commit to doing something, the better you become at it. A remarkable journey of change is all about taking small steps repeatedly and maintaining a steady focus on reaching your goals. Repeating one thing leads to small successes, fueling your motivation and increasing your energy and confidence. This, in turn, enables you to tackle bigger goals and achieve more incredible things. Sticking to a routine strengthens your commitment to long-term goals and allows you to recover from setbacks.
